WPT Malmö Open: the favorites at the semi-finals

The semi-finals of World Padel Tour Malmö Open start this morning and we can say that the favorites will be present today in Sweden.

Allemandi / Nieto, the surprise pair

Indeed, of the eight pairs that will tread the central track of the Swedish tournament (men and women combined), only one is not seeded. It is about Tito Allemandi and Coki Nieto who again surprised yesterday against Lucho Capra and Maxi Sanchez, separated 6/2 7/6.

A victory that allows them to face the most fit pair of recent weeks on the WPT: Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno. The Argentinean and the Andalusian are as impressive as ever, as evidenced by their success yesterday against Pablo Lima and Javi Ruiz: 6/2 6/2.

The other semi-final promises to be the most exciting, since it opposes two pairs who took their revenge yesterday. On one side we will have the numbers 1 Lebron and Galan, and on the other Sanyo Gutiérrez and Agustin Tapia, who are chasing a first title together. A big shock in perspective!

Among the women, there is a “magic square”, since the first four seeds are at the rendezvous of the semi-finals. Yesterday, none of these four pairs did in detail. What victories in two sets and therefore players who should be in great shape to offer us a good show today.

The semi-finals program

  • Lebron / Galan vs Gutiérrez / Tapia: to be continued
