Today there are two European championships padel : one is organized by the International Federation of Padel (FIP), the other by the European Federation of Padel (FEPA).

A new sad page of padel is announced

After the epic of 2019 where we had two European Championships in the same week, we should still have two this year!

An originality of our sport which poses a huge problem since we thus see the family of the padel tear and divide.

The returned image is also catastrophic and destroys all the work done by professionals in our sport.

Fortunately for these international institutions, the padel continues its development despite disputes and the shame of having two European Championships padel.

With this situation, we cannot say that the institutions give a good image of our sport.

How does it work elsewhere?

We wanted to see how things worked in tennis and football.

In tennis, Tennis Europe, the European institution linked to the ITF (International Tennis Federation), organizes the European Championships.

In football, everyone knows UEFA, this European association under the aegis of FIFA which organizes the European Football Championships.

Au padel, the FIP already organized European Championships before the formation of the EPA (now FEPA) in 2018. Today, it has its own committees, does not recognize the FEPA and directly organizes the European Championships ...

We will not go into the reasons that prevent FEPA and FIP hand in hand, we will content ourselves with quoting Fernando Belasteguin who had strong words in Rome in 2019 : “Let’s leave the ego aside and think about the future of padel". Hopefully the legend of padel world will soon be heard ...
