Bernard Giudicelli “The padel will have its internationals "

The new President of the French Tennis Federation, Bernard Giudicelli discusses the policy he wishes to implement around the padel.

Le padel, already a long story ...

Indeed, I discovered the padel many years ago by Jean-Noël Grinda who worked for his integration into the FFT. I must pay tribute to him for his action. I had tried it in 2011 in Llerida, losing play-offs against Spain in Fed Cup. Not a good memory… of the meeting is understood.

As a former President of the Corsican League, I could see that the padel could be a very interesting sport to develop, even if there is still a lot to do and the padel starts slowly in Corsica.

Le padel a good thing for tennis?

Like all racquet sports, the padel sharpens the gaze and shapes the hand without which there is no ball game skill. This faculty and this capacity are quite transferable from one to the other. I also like, as with the beach, its spectacular character and its intensity sometimes superior to tennis given the size of the field occupied by the two players. This feeling that the point survives every exchange is exciting.

What is the program for the padel ?

To develop a sport, you need an event. We are going to build a site somewhere in France and organize the French Open from Padel. Then, the digital transition will allow us to better identify the places of practice and the practitioners to develop a sporting heritage in our leagues. Finally, within the framework of the master plans for the development of the practice signed with the regions, we will help the construction of courts of Padel everywhere in the territory. Building 1000 during the term would be a good start.

Do you think an elected representative around the padel could be a good thing?

Yes it is Gwenola Fouillet who will be responsible for thinking about this in the framework of the High Council of Tennis to start. She will be in touch with Patricia Froissart, the vice-president in charge of the competition on the executive committee.

We could see the emergence of a training dedicated to padel ?

Jean Wallach, who was the general delegate for training, was given the task of creating a training institute for tennis professions. As soon as we have laid the foundations for this institute it will get to work and a certificate PADEL is possible by next year.

  • May Mr Giudicelli thank Mr Grinda for having worked for the integration of padel to the FFT demonstrates its total ignorance of the affair. In fact Mr Grinda proclaimed himself with others, President of a Federation of Padel which had no legal existence and was not recognized by the Ministry of Sports. He is the President of the National League of Padel who acted to put order in this sport (Mr Grinda was apparently sentenced in court for various scheming) In agreement with the Ministry of Sports and after several meetings between the ministry and the national league of padel, the Ministry forced the hand of the FFT a little to integrate the padel. to this richest Federation in France !!! It took more than a year for the Tennis Federation to start trying to develop the padel, but it is true that she had other fish to fry (election, embezzlement etc ...)

    • Mr grinda was playing padel that you were in your mother's skirts, he always put his hand in his pocket to organize tournaments in Nice and get your full gasoline in the car when you were at the bell ... where mr grinda saved and kept under the control of a judicial representative .. read franck's article on this subject, .. his desire has always been to pass the baton on to the tennis federation .. toulouse impostors and tricksters that I have hosted at my place during the tournament in Nice padel.. do not hesitate to contact me when you are in Nice, we will talk about it face to face ... you don't go up to the top of the tree when you have a dirty ass

  • Mr. President of the FFT:
All lovers of padel, the oldest (1992) to the most recent (2014), put a lot of hope in your vision of padel modern. Your declaration to Padel magazine leaves us to think that our sport will know a lightning progression with your campaign of 1000 courts of padel.
Maybe you, like me, participated in the 5000 1981 tennis court campaign at 1990?
We have seen the short-, medium- and long-term effects of this decision to boost the demand of practitioners.
You are also announcing the construction of a padel to organize French internationals from padel, it exists and can exist in multiple places without an untied purse of indoor or out door sites by mobile equipment.
In 2000, we were already organizing in Toulouse and under the watchful eye of our friend Jean Noel Grinda, the Vmes world championship of Padel in the heart of the pink city, Place du Capitole, 3 already panoramic courts and stands to accommodate 165 players representing 13 nations.
The open of France of Padel will celebrate its 8th edition on September 9 10 11. We can bet that by then the organizers of all the circuits will respond positively to our invitation to discuss the best ways to develop the padel smart ways to keep tennis clubs and tennis clubs interested. padel private. Let's not make the same mistakes Argentina made at the end of the 80s and Spain in the 90s ... We have with Philippe Werts, organizer of the Brussels Open, shown that together we can go further .
President, we remain at your disposal and we thank you for agreeing by the difficult times you are going through, you are taking care of the coming of padel French.
Claude Baigts founding president of the FFP 1992 to 2003 and president of the European Association of Clubs of padel Private - organizer of the French Open of padel

    • The interview is interesting, and the intervention of the President of the Open de France also but "open de France" "international France", etc. so it's not the same thing?
And I find it a shame that we put the field of France during the test of Toulouse ... Because I missed the opportunity last year to come and there we are done again. It would take more intelligence between different organizations to avoid this kind of problem.

I find Claude Baights very interesting to read and it is thanks to him if I understand this OPEN of France beautiful (that I saw via the photos, videos, etc.) but he is too nice with even if it s is the diplomacy with the President of the FFT because hardly is it President he is already in correctional ... And it is not over if we believe the various cases in progress and the media .. .

I think this is the opportunity for this Open to take its independence and to be, why not, the French Open of the Federation of padel as there will be if I understand correctly THE internationals of padel by the Tennis Federation.

Here is my little note to all! Well padel to all !!! because it is good this sport!
