Maigret / Peyrou: an encouraging journey in Catania

Adrien Maigret and Jean-Thomas Peyrou made an encouraging run during the FIP Rise of Catania which was held this weekend in Sicily. Indeed, the only French pair present in Italy reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

First, we can be reassured about the state of health of Adrien Maigret's calf. Injured three weeks ago in APT semi-final Padel Tour Belgium Open, the Parisian was back to competition in Sicily. And the least we can say is that the 3rd player in the FFT ranking has reassured, a little over two weeks before the gathering of Team France!

After an easy victory in the sixteenth against qualifiers (6/0 6/0), Adrien and Jean-Thomas first dominated Morales Domenech (530) / Mazzeo Rubi (583) in three sets 7/6 3/6 6 /4, then Di Giovanni (230) / Sinicropi (239) in two sets 6/3 6/4.

In the semi-finals, the French suffered the law of a pair made up of two players from the Top 90: Restivo (73) / Duran (81). A 6/4 6/2 defeat which puts an end to a nice run for the seeded number 4 of this tournament! Beyond the 5 points won, we can say that this FIP Rise will have been a positive experience for “JT and Adri” before the meeting which will take place at the end of the month in Perpignan!
