Premier Padel Brussels P2 – Already a title for Chingalan, at the end of a masterful final

Spectators present at the Brussels maritime station were able to witness a very high level final between Agustín Tapia / Arturo Coello et Alejandro Galan / Federico Chingotto.

The world numbers 1 started as favorites for this match, having notably won the last – and only – confrontation between the two teams. Yet, their crazy series stopped in Brussels, facing an astonishing Chingotto / Galan pair. “Chingalan” won their very first title together, after only two tournaments played, by dominating Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello: 6/4 6/7(4) 6/2.

A first set handled by Chingalan

Chingalan This meeting gets off to a very strong start facing the Coello/Tapia mountain. Federico Chingotto is very impressive and hurts Arturo Coello very badly, who complains of not being very fit on this final day. Indeed, in the game, it is felt and the first break is made very early by seed 3.

Except that with Arturo Coello, there is an Agustín Tapia who can play for ten men on a track of padel. His determination on the ground and the place he takes allows his team to get back into this match.

However, despite a comeback from the world numbers 1, Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan win the first round: 6/4.

The Discord Set

The start of the second set is like the first. Chingotto and Galan take the fronts in this round thatthey hope to be the last in this match. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan press where their opponents hurt, which allows them to lead.

The set seems to be in their pocket and, above all, victory is on the horizon for Chingotto/Galan. Yes but here it is, a game event disrupts the battle of the titans on the central track. A situation which will completely revive Arturo Coello in this match, which we had not yet seen in this final!

After having saved five match points, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia push Galan/Chingotto into a tie-break. Note the enormous fair play of Chingalan qui, on a new contestable arbitral decision, gave the world number 1s a point in the tie-break. In the end, this will help Coello/Tapia come back in this match by winning the second set: 7 / 6 (4).

Chingalan, at the end of the suspense

Because this match cannot continue otherwise, the deciding set starts like the first two, with enormous pressure put on by Chingotto and Galan who, all the same, took a big blow to the head after losing the second set.

However, they remained valiant in this match and managed to save five break points in this set. They are even the first to take the service of their opponents, once again putting the pressure on Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello.

However, the world number 1s, more physically borrowed that in the second set, are not able this time to make a remontada. On one last game simply catastrophic by Agustín Tapia on his serve, the incredible Chingotto/Galan pair manages to bring down the Coello/Tapia mountain, who had not lost in 19 matches !

This victory in Brussels marks the first title for the pair Federico Chingotto / Alejandro Galan. A memorable final for both players, who will have gone through all the emotions, before finally succeeding in establishing themselves in this magnificent ferry terminal.

Now the players fly to their next destination, that is to say Seville, which has already started with the start of the previas today, which has not really smiled on the French.
