Ben Tison: "We have to make the rules for everyone"

Le World Padel Tour published his rule changes for 2021. These rules promote previous, but not the pre-previews. We analyze with Ben Tison this incomplete evolution of the rules.

An improvement in the previas / final table balance

The losing pairs in previas final will get as many points as the pairs eliminated in the first round of the main draw (sixteenths).

This evolution makes it possible to give more possibilities to the pairs who often fail at the doors of the main draw to enter it.

“It's a pretty good sign to change the game.”, Express Ben Tison.

The forgotten pre-previas

If the gap between the previas and the main draw is getting shorter, this is not the case for the pre-previews.

“If we follow logic, why is there a point difference between the last round of pre-previa and the first round of previa?”, asks himself Ben.

“Either we make rules for everyone or we don't. What is scandalous is that if you lose in the first round of pre-previa you have 0 points, and if you lose in the first round of previas you have some 10. The previas are protected, and it is even harder for the pre-previas. ”

“It does not concern me because I am the seed. But we need something fair that is progressive for everyone. ”, concludes the n ° 1 French on the World Padel Tour.
