Gemma Triay and Lucia Sainz claim their second WPT title this season thanks to their victory over twins Alayeto in the final in Barcelona.
A little as with the men this morning, the ladies final of this Estrella Damm Barcelona Master was one-sided. More aggressive entry, Gemma Triay and Lucia Sainz quickly took the lead in this game, leading 3/0.
They logically win the first set 6/2, without giving the Alayeto a chance to take up their duties. In the second, they dismiss a break point at 1/1 after a superb point, and succeed in the break in stride at “punto de oro” at 2/1. The twins will manage to get two opportunities to unbox, without materializing, and therefore concede the set 6/3.
All right stronger in hot times (4 punto de oro won to 0) and less clumsy (8 unforced errors against 16) Triay and Sainz offer themselves a well-deserved 6/2 6/3 victory and win their second tournament this season on the WPT. This victory in a Master even allows them to pass numbers 1 to Race for 15 small points, relegating their victims of yesterday, Salazar / Sanchez in second place.
