Do you dream of multiplying the by 3 and by 4 under the combined effect of the altitude and high temperatures which cause the balls to come out? No need to go to Mexico, you can very well do it by staying in France.

To do this, head to the Avoriaz resort, at an altitude of 1800 metres, where two former tennis courts have recently been converted into padel courts. The latter were built by the Padel French. Lucky players can enjoy a truly “fantastic” setting, like the festival of the same name, which was held in the Haute-Savoie resort until 1993. Incidentally, these padel courts are located at 44, promenade du Festival…

Another pleasant surprise is the price at which these lands, managed by the tourism office, are rented to tourists: 20 euros per hour, or 5 euros per person. Better, the rental is even free for people who stay on site and have subscribed to the package multi-pass, which entitles you to some 70 free activities.

Under these conditions, it is not surprising that the two padel courts, open from 9 a.m. to 19 p.m., attract many fans, many of whom discover the discipline on this occasion.

As for the altitude record for a track in France, it remains the property of the Tignes resort, 2100m away. But it was an ephemeral court, built on snow.

After 40 years of tennis, Jérôme fell into the padel pot in 2018. Since then, he thinks about it every morning while shaving… but never shaves with a pala in hand! A journalist in Alsace, his only ambition is to share his passion with you, whether you speak French, Italian, Spanish or English.
