Le padel is gaining ground in the Val-d'Oise: 3 new sports pitches padel have just been inaugurated at the Ile de loisirs de Cergy-Pontoise.

Le padel is progressing in Cergy-Pontoise

Racquet sports have been a priority on the Leisure Island since the construction of 11 tennis courts in 1981. In 2019, in order to respond to changes in sports practices, Leisure Island took a new step by converting 7 of these tennis courts into 3 tennis courts padel and 4 3×3 basketball courts.

The objective was to revitalize racket sports in the face of the decline in the practice of tennis, while responding to a growing demand from leisure enthusiasts and tennis clubs who did not have such facilities in the department and the agglomeration.

New lands of padel Cergy-Pontoise

Following the success encountered and with funding of €399 from the Region, Leisure Island has begun a second phase of construction, comprising the inauguration of 3 new football pitches padel and the renovation of 4 old tennis courts.

Thanks to an agreement with the Leisure Island, the Tennis Club of Conflans Saint Honorine organizes P100 tournaments, advanced training courses and free initiations. Other clubs like Eragny and Cergy also reserve slots for their members. The rental of courts is growing steadily, with revenue in 2022 already equivalent to that of the previous year.
