Here is a theme that comes up often in clubs of padel, especially during a tournament padel. Should we play the classification matches when a club announces this format? We will see that it depends on many things, but that one must respect a golden rule: the organization of a tournament.

  • Classification matches announced by the organizer

It's strange to see that some of the players do not want to play the rankings. it's more games, more fun and it allows to train. However, the organizers sometimes announce the format of the tournament, nothing to do, players do not follow and suddenly we see players who predict classification matches and others who leave most often without warning. Appraisal: Players are present at matches where their opponents are already far away. And the organizer as the pair convened are well bothered ...

  • Why this behavior?

First, it's a shame, and we criticize it, but the padel must remain a friendly sport. This is his great strength.

If the players are very creative to apologize for not doing the ranking matches. We actually know the reasons:

1. These well ranked players feel they have lost too early and have no mathematical interest to continue the tournament via the rankings matches

2. These players feel that it is not interesting for them padelistically speaking.

Our opinion: We must respect the organizers, the sponsors, and also players who sometimes come from far away. ALL players, even the best ones, must play the game.

Unfortunately, this is a problem that we see especially among the best in a category of tournaments.

When they lose from them, too early, well they disappear from the competition without wanting to play the ranking matches. And that poses organizational problems inevitably. Many of them react like that. It has already been said and repeated to some players of the top 30 who make the move systematically. But nothing to do, there is always an excuse to disappear from the table.

For some organizers, it seems yellow because they may communicate in advance how the tournament works, the ranking matches are very difficult. And players from padel complain rightly because we are announcing classification matches that cannot be played… The organizer can obviously do nothing about it.

  • Is there a solution?

We are not fond of sanction or ban in a game. And even more in the padel, but obviously, many clubs campaign to sanction players who do not want to accept the rules of the game.

Players who do not play the game should be penalized by losing points in the player rankings since this is all that matters to some. It's sad because the padel is a game, but because of some, the FFT will have to establish a regulation of this type there.

A subject that sometimes unleashes the passions bet players and clubs. But we will have to do something to satisfy everyone.
