The world number 1 was the guest of honor during a program hosted by our colleagues from Padel World press in which the young Spaniard gave himself up with an open heart. Asked about his more personal facet, Juan Lebron naturally lent himself to the game of questions and answers. He says a little more about his personality off the pitch.
A simple person
The native of Puerto de Santa Maria described himself, in everyday life, as a totally different person from the one who evolves on the 20×10. When he participates in a competition, he of course has the desire to win, but in his private sphere, he would be a simpler man, humble and very focused on the family, always present for his family.
Has this greater media coverage he has had to face in recent years changed anything on his personal level?
Juan Lebron explained that indeed, being much more exposed changes the perception of viewers or people on social networks. However, his way of working and training remains the same as since he was a child.

“I apologize to Sanyo and Agustin”
Another theme addressed by Alberto Bote during this exchange: the Spaniard's temperament for a year. Indeed, we have been able to note since the start of the season that Juan Lebron seemed to have calmed down. Despite some relapses, the Andalusian has a softer character on the slopes. It is a point that he has worked on and that he has of course improved, suggesting greater professionalism this year.
This is how the journalist wanted to come back to a controversy experienced in June in Toulouse during the WPT Human Padel, in which Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan had drawn the wrath of spectators and aficionados on social networks. As a reminder, the world numbers 1 met in the semi-finals Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia. Suffering during the meeting, the two players had decided to play the clock by interrupting the match several times for various pretexts (WC, physiotherapist, etc.). This little game would have destabilized their opponents and thus allowed the Spaniards to win the game. Asked about this during the interview, Lebron wanted to give his version of this incident. Indeed he affirms that these repeated interruptions were not thought to manhandle their opponents but that they were ultimately necessary to win the victory during this meeting.
“We didn't do it against them and if we did it wrong, I apologize to Sanyo and Agustin”.
