After three months of forced closure, life has resumed at the Pommeraie, as in all the clubs of padel. It was time! Numerous players are present for the resumption, despite the health constraints.
This summer, like every school holiday, La Pommeraie is organizing internships padel and / or tennis. This is the first and, to our knowledge, the only Lower Normandy structure to offer the teaching of padel.
It has been almost a year since this work was entrusted to Marc DURIEUX, current 36th French player, and the different formulas offered have appealed to young and old.
The past year, the school of padel welcomed around XNUMX students, and next year will undoubtedly see this number increase. Since the beginning of July, no less than 50 trainees aged 5 to 15 were able to improve their tennis and discover or improve their padel. The courses continue until the end of August (with the exception of the week of August 3 to 7).
Despite state aid, the Pommeraie club had to launch a participatory kitty to compensate for the twelve weeks of operating loss, a period during which many works were carried out: pro-shop, changing rooms, spectator area, net to enhance the "par 4", change of tennis and badminton lighting to led ...
Damien JEAN, co-manager testifies: “It was inconceivable for us to do nothing during this period of closure. Until the end, we tried to do with our means, but the cash melted like snow in the sun. We improved everything that was possible to do on our own, while still being careful about expenses. Since the re-opening, and even during the entire confinement, we have received lots of messages of support and solidarity from our customers, it has helped get through this nasty period. "
