This week marks the 3rd stage of the world circuit of padel. The best players in the world are gathered in the capital of Aragon, Zaragoza.

Historic tournament by the number of teams that fit into the different tables, this tournament is highly anticipated whether it is women or men with the thunderclap that fell on the tournament there are 2 days.

Presentation of the forces involved and focus on our committed French.

  • Female table

Already 2 stages played and still no wins for the twins Majo and Mapi Sanchez Alayeto. The world numbers have marked this stage of a red cross on the calendar since they will play at home in front of an audience fully committed to their cause.

Competition, still very far in the ranking, will be very tough and we could witness many surprises as in the first two stages.

Alix Collombon, who did not enter the final table this week, has unfortunately lost in the first round of previas facing two young Spanish players of 17 and 18 years.

Laura Clergue and her partner Meli Garcia Truchado will have a duel within their reach against the 50 and 52ème WPT players. We hope to see the first victory of the French champion 2017 in Zaragoza.

  • Male table

Huge blow for the organizers with the withdrawal yesterday of the seed number 1 tournament. Fernando Belasteguin has been injured in the elbow since the 24 April. He did everything to play the tournament but the pain is still too much for the legend of the circuit.

In a men's circuit that becomes extremely tight (4 different pairs for the first two finals of the year), the table is even more open to get the title in the Aragonese capital.

The favorites will still be Maximiliano Sanchez and Carlos "Sanyo" Gutierrez propelled number 1 as well as the pair Navarro / Diaz on the other side of the table. An explosive quarter-final awaits them, however, against “Juanes” Belluati and Lebron, in great shape since the beginning of 2018.

On the side of our French, no feat for Robin Haziza defeated in the first round of pre-qualifying against a seeded team.

The huge ray of sunshine came from our champions of France Blanqué / Bergeron who had yet lost in France against the pair Adrien Maigret / Benjamin Tison. We were impatiently waiting for them to unlock the counter in WPT and they even did better by securing 2 consecutive victories. They earn 4 WPT points each and a good bowl of confidence before the future international and French deadlines. They will play the next stage of the My Padel Tour to Beausoleil in 15 days.
