Could this be the end of the pair Sanyo Gutierrez / Momo González ?

For some time now, rumors have been rife regarding a possible separation of the two players. The checkered results of recent weeks tend to prove that these statements could be true.

Not really the expected results

The Spanish-Argentinian pair, which had started well in their debut, did not achieve the expected results. Confined most of the time to the quarter-finals, the native of Malaga and his partner are unable to break through as they would like.

This week again the lack of success and realism caused them to fall in the 1/16th final against Jon Sanz and Coki Nieto 7/5 – 6/2. As a reminder, the two Spaniards had already managed to defeat the Sanyo / Momo pair in the quarter-finals in Malaga last July. Of the fourteen competitions contested, the two “magicians” qualified “only” for two finals.

An attitude not always at the top

Other elements led us to believe that this separation will not take long to happen. Among other things, the attitude of the Argentinian during the last competitions. In Vienna the latter did not hesitate to complain about his partner on his "lack of gnaque" when he went to the toilet. Already at that moment on the track we felt that the understanding between the two players was wavering. This Thursday Sanyo Gutierrez seemed out of his game, as he was able to highlight on his Instagram post "Sorry Momo, today I was not able to accompany you further".

The rumors are rife

The latest information that we have been able to collect comes to you from our colleagues at Veined by Diez, who claim that the pair are in the process of separating. After more than four months together, the two players finally decided to take different paths. But when ?

Indeed, as he has always claimed, Sanyo likes to rely on long associations. Another element suggests that the end of this union is perhaps not for yet: Sanyo's sentence on his last post Instagram who says " we still have to do a reset and try to come back stronger".

Some think the Argentinian could team up with his nephew Agustin gutierrez with whom he trains on a daily basis. This seems quite unlikely given the rankings of both men, but we know that Sanyo is very attached to his family, and he could allow his nephew to gain valuable points in the rankings.

On the other hand, nothing has leaked concerning the possible new partner of Momo Gonzalez…

Unless there is rapid communication from one of the two protagonists, all we have to do is wait to see the list of registrants for the next World Padel Tour from Madrid, which will be available from September 12. We will see at that time whether the two players are registered together for the competition or not.
