Benjamin Tison, the French number 1, begins his participation in Human Padel Open 2023 on the track at the Palais des Sports this Wednesday alongside his Spanish partner Victor Mena.

They will first have to pass the “test against Mario Cordero”.

The bronze medal, an indescribable memory

“My best memory is the bronze medal I won at the World Championships last summer. It was a very special moment for me. On the other hand, my worst memory is during the European Championships in Rome, when I came back from injury for the final and I was not able to play at my best level during this match.

Solid and fun

“I appreciate players who have a very powerful smash, because that's not really my specialty. So I can lower myself slightly and let my partner punch above me. I like this dynamic. Also, I'm looking for someone solid, but above all, I want someone I can have fun with, have a good attitude and go for great performances.”

Good student

“I've never been so angry that I broke my racquet. I believe that I am one of the rare French players to have never done this, whether in tennis or padel. "

Roland Garros

“I am currently participating in the Human Padel Toulouse, but I have to admit that Roland-Garros was my best tournament so far.”

€3000 in prize money

“My biggest prize money win was in Milan when I won around €3000.”

In his bubble

“Before a match, unlike 2-3 years ago, I like to be alone, do my physical warm-up and let my mind wander, thinking about various things (laughs).

I don't listen to music, at least not all the time. Besides, I am one of the only ones not to listen to it.”

Not superstitious...

“I don't have a lucky item or item of clothing for a game, I'm not very superstitious about it. However, I know some of my t-shirts seem to bring a little more luck than others, but that's about it.

Football, a second passion

"Outside of padel, I really like to play football and also go to good restaurants to taste a good wine.”

Crazy experiences at padel

It is difficult to choose just one among so many others. I met so many "stars" in my eyes and I lived so many incredible moments, whether in the France team, during my first draw or with exceptional people.

It's the whole harmony with my team, my partners, my coaches and all that I live thanks to the padel that makes each experience unique.

Le padel is truly amazing, and all the experiences I've had, like the All Star Padel Last year's game with Thierry Omeyer, are moments that I would never have imagined to live.
