This Friday the Cupra All Star Padel Game started at the Petit Palais as part of the Human Padel Open, with a fine line-up of showbiz personalities and famous athletes. The opportunity for them to compete in a small tournament. Cheyrou vs. Jallet? Melenchon with padel ? At our microphone, the host Cartman, alias Nicolas-Bonaventure Ciattoni, gave us his “tips” for winning the tournament.

Padel Magazine : We saw that you had recently subscribed to Padel Magazine, what has happened ?

Cartman: “Do you want me to tell you my story with Padel Magazine ? I made an initiation of padel at Roland-Garros last year and when I came out of the initiation of padel, I did an interview for Padel Magazine. I didn't know a player and he asked me "Who would you like to play against?“, it was the heyday of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and I said Mélenchon. This is my level padel one year ago. In the meantime, Florent Dasque has “matrixed” me. He made me play padel. "

PM: He really forced you?

Cartman : “He forced me to play padel. I played four times a week at padel and there's a problem, it's that I haven't evolved! So we'll see what happens, we'll see if the work pays off or not.

PM: Are you going to stand up to all these ex-professionals?

Cartman: “In truth, the fact that they are already great athletes, they already have a sense of placement, mentally they are ready to play. They know when to let go, when to get angry because I don't know how to do it, I'm a ball of nerves. I'm going to treat mums a lot, there's going to be a lot of low blows, especially on people's weight. Really it's going to be nasty, it's my only weapon! And on the other side my partner (Editor's note: the singer Florent Dasque), he is a real player.

PM: Who is better between Benoît Cheyrou and Christophe Jallet?

Cartman: “It's hard to say but maybe Cheyrou because he has more style padel. I played against both but my partner was Adrien Maigret.

PM: You shouldn't say that normally (laughs)

Cartman : “We smashed them! But I didn't touch the ball, that's what's embarrassing”.

PM: Were you put in the fridge in the end?

Cartman: “I was calm, solid on the supports, at my maximum”.

PM: What is the objective then?

Cartman: “The objective is not to take a bubble against Jérôme Fernandez and maybe win a match. If we win a game, I'm happy. We'll see what happens."

Although Cartman and his partner Florent Dasque won a match against singer Eyal and former rugby player William Servat (6/5), they lost 6/0 against Jérôme Fernandez and Vincent Clerc. A mixed record for the French actor and host.
