Le Padel and the Kings League could cross paths with Juan Lebrón as a guest in the Jijantes squad.

It may be an unexpected connection. THE padel and the Kings League could soon collaborate thanks to the intervention of Juan Lebrón at the Jijantes.

Launched in 2022 in Barcelona by Gerard Pique in partnership with other great footballing figures and renowned streamers such as Ibai Llanos, the kings league is a seven-a-side football competition. To everyone's astonishment, since January 1, it has become the most watched football league in Spain, even surpassing La Liga.

This competition, which brings together twelve teams made up of amateur and professional players, seduced by its rules specially designed to offer spectacle. As proof, she gathered up 15 million viewers on Twitch on his first day in the league – that's five times more than the 15ᵉ day in La Liga. (Source: Eurosport)

The league's immense popularity isn't just down to its innovative rules or talented players. The fact that it is broadcast on Twitch by the biggest Spanish streamers, combined with the presence of world stars alongside lesser known players, offers a unique and fascinating mixture.

In this context, the potential participation of Juan Lebrón, the world number one padel (in the FIP ranking), could be the next big Kings League media stunt.

Talking to Gerard Romero, president of Jijantes, one of the Kings League's flagship teams, Lebrón didn't hide his enthusiasm. “Excuse my arrogance, but I'm an excellent footballer,” the Andalusian said humorously. “I'm waiting for you to invite me to Jijantes. If you do, and if the conditions suit me, I will be there.”

It's not the first time that Lebrón has ventured into the world of football. A few months ago, a video of him showing off his skills with a ball went viral. He had then joked by asking Manuel Pellegrini, the coach of Betis, to recruit him.

The passion for football is in Lebrón's DNA. His older brother, Manuel Lebrón, was a professional footballer, having played notably at the Betis youth academy, then in Xérez and Murcia. He even played in the Malaysian Premier League with Johor FC. (Source: Mundo Deportivo)
