A new international circuit of padel will emerge in 2022: the Gentlemen's Padel World Cup Clubs. We meet pascal hernandez, which is associated with EFCA de Claude Baigts to create a world circuit for veterans.

A cut for veterans

pascal hernandez is a former tennis player and passionate about padel, who has lived on 5 continents. It fits into theEuropean Association of Clubs Padel to set up this new international circuit.

“The idea of having an international cup of padel for vétérans clubs comes from a double observation. First, there is no international tournament for clubs. There is a Davis Cup format, but these are only national teams. ”

“Secondly, I participated for 20 years in tournaments Senior ITF -tennis-. Each week there are between 3 and 5 tournaments all over the world for veterans. People are willing to fly for hours on the plane to hit the yellow ball against illustrious strangers. My observation is that there are a lot of people who are willing to take all these trips, despite the cost. Some even do just that by releasing 5 to 000 euros per month. “

"At padel, there is nothing for the veterans, apart from this Davis Cup format in Las Vegas. I've been thinking about this international circuit for veterans for years. ”

Editor's note: there is still a circuit, called International Padel Senior Tour, worn for several years by a certain Roque Roasio, which offers international tournaments for veterans in different locations around the world.

EFCA, an international force

The globetrotter therefore enters theEuropean Association of Clubs Padel to set up this new international circuit.

"With Claude Baigts, who was also thinking of a circuit of this type, we came to an agreement and we signed agreements. We want to offer this for clubs of padel, and their veterans around the world. ”

The year 2022 will be composed of 4 stages including a Master Final, all in Malaga at the Leon 13 club. The idea is to offer stages all over the world in 2023. The age categories will be as follows: +45, +50, and +55 years.

“It's a complex project to set up, so we won't be able to put stages abroad in the first year. Malaga and the Costa del Sol are the cradle of padel global. Here the padel is democratized, and it's a destination that attracts international tourism. ”

Finally, the Gentlemen's Padel World Cup Clubs will not only be padel. The AECP wishes to expand the service, and offer a complete experience.

“We don't just want to have an offer padel, but being able to combine gastronomy, culture, history and padel. The service will be of the highest quality. ”, concludes Pascal Hernandez.

More information will arrive in the coming months.
