No surprises unfortunately at the Tennis Club of Estoril for the European Championships of padel. Ladies and gentlemen alike have logically bowed against much stronger teams.

Our little sun comes from the ladies and a huge match of the Collombon / Ginier pair against the Portuguese. As always the champions of France in title show that we will have to rely on her in France as in Spain (Since Alix Collombon trains recently in Barcelona). From the first sets, they show that they have level to shake the host country. While it is a match without stake, but the players do not want to let go. In this first set, our French make the break in the best moments to win 7 / 5.

In the second set, the French break in the middle of the second set then re-break a second time to win their match 7/5 6/2. Well done to them.

Concerning Audrey Casanova / Laura Clergue and Léa Godallier / Marianne Vandeale, the walk was way too high. Our vice-champions of France played the 1 pair of the Portuguese team. They were unable to play their game. Their balls worked and a service impossible to return were "the cherries on the cake"Explains the captain, Patrick Fouquet.

Regarding match 2, team 2 from Portugal did not spare our French. Lea and Marianne did not manage to play their game. Small light in the second set, but it was far too late.

The ladies will play tomorrow to try to win this famous bronze medal.

In gentlemen, it's almost the same thing. None of our pairs could do anything against the Spaniards. As for the ladies, it is the 3e match, match without stake which was perhaps the most interesting, since Robin Haziza and Maxime Moreau managed to take many games in the pair Ruiz / Lahoz. France was even leading 2 / 0 in the first set. But the Spaniards came back in their match to win this game quietly.

The men will also have the place of 3 to play. We are waiting to know if it will be Portugal or Italy. If it is Italy, the confrontation will certainly be very hot given the controversy of two days ago.
