La australian federation of Padel announced today on its networks, somewhat to everyone's surprise, the organization of the 1st Australian Open Padel which will take place next year.

If we know very little about the competition at the moment, the Australian federation has nevertheless sent us the dates: from January 26 to 29, 2023, that is to say at the same time as the Australian Open Tennis. The finals will apparently be played within the complex used during the Australian Open (the Melbourne park), but the federation did not give further details.

As for the competition's prize-money, this is not to be outdone since it is announced that it will exceed $20.000. An amount that seems attractive enough to attract foreign players.

Registrations for this Australian Open of Padel will be open from December 1st.

After Roland-Garros (and the Greenweez Paris Premier Padel Major), it is therefore another tennis monument that seems ready to succumb to the wave padel and who could call others to join “the movement”.
