Do you remember this famous watch episode that we could see during the WPT Brussels Open?

As a reminder, last April when the quarter-final between Sanyo Gutierrez / Momo Gonzalez and Juan Tello / Alex Ruiz was taking place, the latter had appealed to the referee to request the video review during the final point. Indeed, according to him, his watch to control his diabetes took off while the point was not entirely finished. The video referee agreed with the Andalusian and asked Sanyo and Momo to replay the point, although this incident had no impact on the game.

It would seem that this story of watches continues the two friends to Toulouse: this Thursday, during their 1/8th final against Edu Alonso and Juan Luis Esbri, the Argentinian and the Spaniard felt like an air of “déjà vu“. Indeed, this time it was the Andalusian who, after a smash from Esbri that hit his wrist, saw his watch fall to the ground. Always with his usual humor, Momo Gonzalez laughed at the situation, remembering this moment experienced a few weeks earlier against his compatriot and former partner. He looked at the referee, pointing to his watch and smiling, as if asking to replay the point.

But he and Sanyo ultimately didn't need any subterfuge to win 6/3 7/5, scoring the last 5 games.
