Since a few weeks, players leave doubts about their presence in the WPT Open 1000. Finally, it looks like the situation is taking a favorable turn for the circuit managed by Setpoint Events SA.

Accused of not being in agreement with the contract signed in 2018, the recently created Open 1000 have attracted the wrath of the PPA. Indeed, we wondered if the players were going to participate or not in these tournaments, and if the WPT was going to retort.

But finally, we notice that the leaders of the padel worldwide registered for the first two Open 1000 at The Rioja (March 6-12) and at Chile (March 14-19). The players therefore seem willing to play at least these first tournaments. In the absence of a press release from the circuit, we imagine that the situation has been resolved internally.

From now on, it remains to be seen whether the athletes have made the decision to participate in all of the Open 1000 of the season or not… Case to follow in the coming weeks.
