We almost witnessed the first surprise of the tournament among the men in Mexico. Indeed, Javi Garrido and Fede Chingotto almost took the door as soon as they entered the running.

What a fight! Fede Chingotto and Javi Garrido were forced to dip into their reserves to avoid getting caught out by a pair from qualifying. Dominated in the games, the outsiders Miguel Semmler and Joseda Sanchez played their luck thoroughly and showed unfailing realism as evidenced by the 3 break points converted out of 3 and the 6 decisive points won out of 6!
