Last step for Premier Padel, after a relatively short season on the circuit with only six tournaments this year. This second year for Premier Padel will have especially been the season of new products, with the entry of ladies on the scene.

They only participated in four of the six tournaments, not being present during the Qatar Major and the P1 Mendoza. Return of the players to Milan, as the tournament organizers were able to welcome. Gemma Triay herself made a statement: “We are training a lot for an intense and exciting, but above all fun week.”

The entry of women into Premier Padel

At the start of the season, Premier Padel was already delighted with the arrival of the players on the circuit. A real breakthrough since during the 2022 season, they were absent from its competitions. It was necessary to fight for the best players to finally agree to join the competition. And when we say “battle”, we are talking about entire months of talks.

This year, players joined several tournaments – although they did not participate in all – revealing the first champions. And if, among the men, there was a real supremacy of Coello/Tapia, this was not the case among the ladies. Over the last three tournaments, three pairs have been titled: Triay/Ortega, Brea/Gonzalez and finally Josemaria/Sanchez.

These three pairs will be present in Milan, therefore offering the possibility for one of them to take the advantage. Or, outsider pairs could disrupt this season's Big 3. Suspense guaranteed in Milan.

A smaller prize money?

One of the main reasons why players did not join Premier Padel was the financial question. With less attractive contracts, the players had negotiated. The gentlemen had accepted because financially, the endowments were multiplied up to five times. For women, it was more interesting to stay on the World Padel Tour than playing on Premier Padel.

But a lot of changes, twists and disappointments disrupted the end of last season. And if discussions progressed between Premier Padel and the players, the World Padel Tour was gradually losing ground. We're not going to tell you the story again, but we know the ending: the arrival of the best players on Premier Padel in Italy.

PRIZE MONEY PREMIER PADEL
However, there is a small point in this Milano Major which raises questions: the sharing of Prize Money. In total, its sum amounts to €470. But of this amount, €000 will be shared among men and only €300 among women. A sharing that is far from fair and which obviously raises some questions.

Despite everything, the last tournament on the circuit Premier Padel promises a lot of spectacle.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
