Another great day in Monaco for this Master of A1 Padel. Among the gentlemen the favorites have assured, among the ladies we were entitled to a surprise elimination.

In the men

“El Loco” Torre and Diego Ramos ensure. The number 4 seed was very quiet. Without forcing, she wins in two rounds 6/2 6/3 against the Mercadal/Del Moral pair

It was perhaps the match of the tournament: un 100% Argentinian duel between Chozas/Augsburger and Yob/Puppo. In the first round, the "bombers" lead the dance. Leito Yob and Luciano Puppo are jostled and fail to surprise their opponents. Finally in the second round, the latter find the necessary resources to reverse the trend and return to a set everywhere by saving a match point.

In the third set, the two pairs engage in a fierce battle. The slightest mistake can be fatal. Chozas and Augsburger make the difference take control with two opportunities to lead 5/1. But Yob and Puppo resist and do not give in : they will even save another match point at 5/3 on the service of Alex Chozas then another at 5/4. Decidedly Luciano Puppo and Leito Yob are tenacious. The fate of this meeting will be decided in a decisive tie break. Yob and Puppo will even offer themselves a match point, but the Chozas / Augsburger pair does not bend. 6/7, 8/7, 8/9 each pair thinks they hold the right end but none give up, the game is going crazy. At the end of the suspense, Alex Chozas and Leo Augsburger end up winning 6/4 5/7 7/6 (12/10 in the tie-break).

It was the shock expected: Arce / Dal Bianco against the Spaniards 'Pincho' / Diestro. We expected an explosive match and we finally had a meeting that lacked rhythm. In the first set, it was the Argentines who mastered their opponents. 'Pincho' Fernandez and José Antonio Diestro are muzzled and struggle to develop their usual game. In the second round, the exchanges are choppy, marked by numerous faults on both sides. Less pace and therefore an opportunity to come back for the Spaniards. 'Pincho' and Diestro are in a strong moment, they take the advantage and offer themselves four set points at 6/5, 0/40 on the service of Franco Dal Bianco. At this point, the meeting changes. The Argentinians save, one, two, three then four set points and push their opponents to the tie-break. Pincho and José Antonio are knocked out. KO standing, the Spaniards face the fury of the kings of the circuit. The tie-break is one way, 7/0. Arce and Dal Bianco won the last 11 points of the match: a true reaction of champions. Victory 6/3 7/6.

End of the adventure for Alejandro Urzola and Javier Perez. The Spaniards first struggled in the first set, but in the tie-break Melgratti and Frugoni were stronger. Imperial offensively, the Argentinians flew over the second set to afford a prestigious place in the last four. Victory 7/6 6/2.

In the ladies

There was no miracle for Élodie Invernon and Wendy Barsotti who lost 6/3 6/3 against the number 2 seed, Manuela Schuck/Marina Pinacho.

Number three on the mat! It was the trap match for Laia Rodriguez and Ana Fernandez. Their opponents do not have a point on circuit A1 Padel, but we know they are fearsome. Marina Guinart (30th in the WPT) and Araceli Martinez (40th in the WPT and rrecently called for the European Games 2023) came to spoil the party in Monaco. They offer themselves the scalp of the head of series number 3 on the score of 6/1 7/6.

Beausoleil succeeds in Patricia Ribeiro. The Portuguese offers herself a new semi-final on A1 Padel after the French Open. She and her teammate Martha Arellano win in two sets 6/2 6/4 against Baharak Soleymani and Cristina Gonzalez.

The seeded number 1 at the rendezvous. Cristina Carrascosa and Mireia Herrada secured against the Hispano-Italian pair Blanco/Vano. Victory 7/5 6/4.
