A surprise guest was present in the previas of the World Padel Tour Granada Open 1000: Alex Chozas, usual resident of the A1 competing circuit Padel. The Argentinian, ranked 8th on the Fabrice Pastor circuit, participated for the first time in a WPT Open 1000 by skipping the A1 Brazil Open Padel.

The native of Hurlingham had to agree to go through the qualifications to take part in the tournament, he who is regularly seeded thanks to his Top 10 status at A1. The 19-year-old has made three quarter-final appearances in the first three tournaments of the season.

Associated with the Chilean Javier Valdès, ranked 76th in the World Padel Tour, Chozas surfed the previas with a bye in the first round, two easy victories against the brothers Simon (6/3 – 6/1) and Rodriguez / Garcia (6/0 – 6/3), then a solid success against Pablo Castillo and Arnau Ayats (7/6 – 7/6).

The baptism of fire will continue for the two men who will measure themselves in sixteenths against sacred customers: Lucho Capra and Agustin Gutierrez.
