We recently broadcast the final of the Acapulco APT, the opportunity to rediscover players we have already seen in Europe.

As we said Fabrice Pastor in the “face-to-face” interview on Instagram, the APT is the circuit of padel reference on the South American continent. There are players that we have already seen on the World Padel Tour.

In first place in the APT ranking, there are four players. Among them, Acapulco winners : Argentines Leonel Aguirre and Cristian Ozan. These two men played on the WPT a few years ago. 11 wins in 20 games for Ozan, and 14 wins in 20 games for Aguirre.

Also in first place, the Brazilians Stefano Flores and Julio Julianoti are two very strong players. Benefiting from a wild card at the WPT Open in Sao Paulo, the two men had extremely narrow inclined 6/7 6/1 6/7 facing Gadea / Nerone (respectively 35 and 48 at the WPT).

Finalist at Acapulco, Yain Melgratti had been seen during the Paris Challenger in 2019. Associated with Santiago Frugoni, the current 8th at the APT had made the show on the side of Saint-Denis. The two men had passed 4 laps before losing 6/3 7/6 against Sergio Icardo / Javier Redondo (current 83 and 85 at the WPT). Powerful and spectacular left player, Melgratti had impressed on the track.

Lucho Sliveres, Melgratti's partner in Acapulco, is also a well-known player on the WPT. From a height of 59 meters, the Argentinian was associated with Agustin Tapia when he started in Europe. With only 17 games played on the WPT for 11 wins, we can say that he was doing pretty well!

Many APT players have played well in Europe, we can also mention the Argentines Maximiliano Cejas and Gonzalo Gabriel Alfonso, respectively number 9 and number 21 at the APT, who had managed to enter the table of the 2018 Paris Challenger, dominating in passing Max Moreau and Pablo Acevedo.

Do not doubt it, between the players that we already know, and the young people that we will discover, like Maximiliano Sanchez Blasco, perhaps one of the future greats of padel worldwide, the APT Padel Tour is full of talent. Strongly the recovery so that we can see all these players evolve!
