The second French representative in contention in this main draw of the Tenerife Open was Jeremy Scatena. Associated to Exequiel Mourino for the first time, the Frenchman was handicapped by the very slow conditions.

In a very tactical encounter, the veteran Aday Santana and her partner Victor Saenz were able to take over, despite an increase in the level of play of “coach Scatena” and Exequiel Mouriño in the second set.

The match was finally concluded in third place by the locals after a breathless encounter.

The slow track, the long rallies

In the long-awaited duel between Spanish and Argentinian youth, Maxi Sanchez Blasco and Juani De Pascual took over Cordoba/Sager by showing superiority. The four players have incredible talent, but Juani and Maxi have a maturity that is truly rare for their age. After their final in Budapest, the Argentinians are launched for the two Canarian weeks.

Note the outright victory of Javi Perez and Mario Del Castillo against Diego Gil and Jairo Bautista. The latter will never have been able to adapt to the conditions. In this situation, tactical intelligence becomes the best asset, and both Javi and Mario have shown themselves to be great strategists.
