The Logrono WPT tournament ended on Sunday April 14 with the men's and women's finals. Second event of the season, we appreciated the general level of play. A professional circuit where the level is very high. And our French had trouble on the facilities of the World Padel Tour in Logrono.

A difficult tournament for the French

At men's :

All the French players played in pre-game with the aim of passing in foreplay then in the final table.

As in Marbella, it is Jeremy Scatena in men who realizes the best tournament. Associated with the very talented Bernils, he climbs to 3epre-game with a defeat in 3 sets. A good start to the season for Jérémy after the 3 games won at the Master of Marbella.

His former partner Robin Haziza had little success with a tough draw in the first game and a defeat 6 / 1 6 / 4. Robin was in a good day, it would have been a big day to pass.

For their 1erWPT of the season, Benjamin Tison and Adrien Maigret made a very good impression. A nice win at 1erpre-match against a top seed and a defeat at 2ndturn after having 3 match balls. As always very catchy, the Parisian 2 have been able to offer a very high level despite the return of injury from Benjamin Tison the old to training.

The balance sheets of Johan Bergeron, Bastien Blanqué and Maxime Moreau are more delicate to do.

In women:

2ndtournament and beautiful first victory for the pair Martin / Godallier. A win in 3 sets and a defeat in 3 sets at 2ndturn of the previas. Step by step, this team progresses in the WPT.

Laura Clergue has a difficult start to the season. A defeat dry in his first round with a partner yet ranked. Succeeding good matches in side tournaments, It would take a match in Alicante to bring confidence back into the WPT circuit.

Alix Collombon could not dream of a worse draw. A match against the recent semi-finalists of the Marbella Masters and an 2ndturn that would have opposed the seeded No. 1. A defeat at 1er6 tower / 2 6 / 4. A lot of positive to withdraw from this match. Moreover, Alix has just gone to the Finale of a beautiful tournament in Spain this weekend, the level is here ... just hope a draw a little softer to enter the tournament in Alicante.

Absences among the best

2 big absent during this tournament of Logrono:

Mathias Diaz did not have the opportunity to catch up on his bad tournament in Marbella. Absent due to injury, he left his usual partner Stupa, the time of this tournament.

Only one being misses you and everything is depopulated ... Mapi Sanchez Alayeto always absent, his twin sister has all the difficulties of the world to release good results.

What can we expect at the end of this tournament?

In the French, there will be stability in most teams. We will probably see some changes of partners for some players ... maybe this weekend in Alicante. With a little luck in the draw, we can expect better results for our French. Most are in good shape and one or more surprises can happen in Alicante.

4 teams stand out at the start of the season: Sanyo / Maxi Sanchez and Paquitto / Lebron for the men, Marrero / Ortega and Sanchez / Salazar for the women. Will the Alicante tournament allow a return to the 1erBela / Lima plan for men? Can we see Alayeto achieve a performance without his twin? ...

Objectively, Logrono was neither the most beautiful city nor the most beautiful tournament of the year. The next tournament in Alicante will offer matches at 2 not the beach in a very nice club in the meadow with a central court that can accommodate up to 1000 people.
