Rendez-vous from August 29 to September 1, 2023 for the 2nd edition of the International Exhibition Tournament of Padel Armchair at Casa Padel.

The best players in the world

This tournament will take place a few days before the Premier Padel Major of Roland-Garros which will begin on September 4.

Thanks to the presence of the world's best players, Olympic champions in wheelchair tennis, this event will be an opportunity to discover the high international level of padel-armchair.

48 players from 8 nations are announced including 8 French pairs and 8 Spanish pairs.

Spain will be the big favorite of this international tournament. She will notably be led by the pair Oscar Agéa / Coco Bernal, who won the 2022 edition.

A 2022 edition that surprised

The 2022 edition had seen 24 players and 4 nations (France-Spain-Belgium and the Netherlands) cross swords, with in particular the participation of Robin Ammerlaan, double Olympic gold medalist in wheelchair tennis, Stan Devriese, former number 3rd world junior in wheelchair tennis and Frederic Catanéo, 3rd in France in wheelchair tennis and member of the France team.

Unsurprisingly, the two finalist pairs for 2022 were Spanish: Oscar Agéa/Coco Bernal and Iñaki Ramperez/Marcos Cambronero. This year, the French, Belgians and Dutch will want to show that they have progressed.

The other nations represented for this 2nd edition will for the moment be Sweden, Italy and the United Kingdom, awaiting the finalization of registrations.

Program

  • Tuesday 29: press conference and exhibition match with 2 mixed pairs made up of an able-bodied player and a wheelchair player.
  • Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31: 36 matches per day from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m.
  • Friday 1st: final phase with 24 matches from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m., then prize-giving.

A logistics that requires partners, sponsors, patrons

Such an international event with 48 wheelchair players traveling with 2 wheelchairs since they have an additional wheelchair specific to the sport, requires a substantial financial investment.

The organization is looking for partners, patrons and sponsors who will be willing to engage with them in order to welcome these 48 high-level athletes in the best conditions.
