Thomas Leygue and Bastien Blanqué qualified for the semi-finals of the French Championships 2022, after an intense match against Yann Auradou and Manu Vives.

Stretched by the stake

At the start of the match, the players were tense with what was at stake, the seeded 2 dreading the Auradou/Vives pair, especially on a track where outings are not yet authorized [they will be this afternoon in half].

The outsiders, seeded No. 7, also had a good number of break points, especially on the service of Leygue, but the Aixois and the Toulousain managed to save them all and reach the tie-break. There, last year's finalists closed the game and won 7/3 in a decisive game that was a relief for them.

Ten missed break points

In fact, they were then able to play more liberated in the second set, making a first break fairly early. Vives and Auradou were not far from picking up at 3-3, but Leygue made a beautiful save on a new break point and was able to keep his commitment.

And at 4-2, the favorite pair did not miss the opportunity to take off and once again take the opposing service, before concluding the next game. Final score of this beautiful match: 7/6 6/2.

But Vives and Auradou can feed a regret: that of not having materialized any of their 10 break points, while Blanqué and Leygue, more effective, made 2 out of 7!

In the semi-finals, the TS2 will be opposed to Nicolas Trancart and Loïc Le Panse, who beat the pair Le Saux/Raichman this morning.
