Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello win the Open Cupra Las Rozas from today. This is a first this year on the circuit of World Padel Tour to see a tournament not being able to go to the end normally.

And for good reason ! Pablo Lima, the Brazilian must forfeit because of a right calf injury. Lima / Navarro will not be able to play this final of the last Open of the season.

However, this is the second time in WPT history that a final has not been played. In 2017, Fernando Belasteguin, the former partner of Lima had withdraw from the Valladolid Open due to a knee problem.

Lima must throw in the towel

A third final which will therefore not take place for Pablo Lima and Paquito Navarro, but who hope to be able to participate in the final event ...

For now, we know little, the Brazilian could soon communicate on the seriousness of this injury and the possible consequences on the Masters tournament (the Master) next December.

The medical report seems clear: Rupture of the tendon in the right ankle. The recovery may take more than a month.

Direct consequence: Paquito Navarro could then have to look for a partner for the Master of World Padel Tour in Menorca.

1st victory for Tello / Chingotto

For now, it is therefore the young Argentines who can celebrate their victory, even if they would have preferred to win it on the pitch.

We will remember their incredible semi-final against the world numbers Galan / Lebron in 2 sets 7/5 6/3. A victory that counts twice and a historic part: 86.000 people were able to follow the streaming of this semi-final live. A record!

Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello win the tenth tournament of the year and thus obtain their first title in an Open du World Padel Tour.

We will obviously see them again at Master of Menorca from December 10 to 13, 2020.
