For the moment, it is only a noise from the hallway, but in Spain, it is rumored that in 2020, the ranking of the World Padel Tour could be in the form of a Race, like what we have already seen in tennis. To know a ranking for the year 2020, whose primary goal would be to determine the 16 pairs (8 for women, 8 for men), who will qualify for the Final Master.

Due to a truncated 2020 season, the WPT has chosen to block ranking. A logical decision since between April and June 2019, five tournaments were held. Without blocking the ranking, the players would have lost the points for these tournaments during confinement and the ranking would have included only 10 tournaments for those who did not play the Final Master.

Race would therefore reward the best players of 2020 for the Final Master, but would have the advantage of maintaining a more coherent overall ranking, integrating the results of a larger number of tournaments. For the moment, nothing official but the WPT should not delay in communicating on this novelty.
