La Portuguese Federation of Padel (FPP) in a discussion with the Government, succeeded in reaching an agreement for the gradual reopening of the Padel. The big recovery is therefore scheduled for today May 4, 2020!

Here is how the resumption of the padel (thank you very much to Marcelo alves for the translation)

First phase :
Opening the 4 May for outdoor areas not covered.

Second phase:
Reopening the 18 May covered outdoor courts - in the absence of contamination between players padel during the previous 14 days.

Third phase:
Au first june and if still no case of Covid in sport: reopening of indoor courts and start of competition

The government can at any time modify dates and protocols. The rules and protocols to be implemented, which resemble those of the FIP or FEPA, are as follows:

  • Do not play Padel if :

-You have been in contact with someone who has had the covid in the past 14 days
- You have flu symptoms
- You belong to a risk group

  •  General rules

- Installation of a physical barrier between the players and the reception (plexiglass or glass)
- Ground signaling for off-site distance
- Rental of balls and rackets prohibited
- Closed toilets and changing rooms (except emergency)
- Remove all rest equipment
- Display of standards for hand washing
- Favor contactless payments
- No spectators
- Closure of the club bar
- Record the telephone contact of players who come to the club
- Create and enforce protocols for players and staff

  • The hygiene measures in the clubs are as follows:

- Provide soap and hydroalcoholic gel at the entrance / exit of the club and also on the grounds
- Clean the grounds after rental (interior of glazing, net, wire mesh) with solutions based on alcohol or bleach
- Clean the contact surfaces (doors, balcony, etc.)

  • Regarding access to the club:

- Access only to players and staff
- For children, only one parent
- Players will be able to enter after the exit of other players, without crossing paths
- Distance of 2 meters outside the grounds
- Immediate departure after the match / training

  • Regarding the practice of padel :

- Arrive at the time of rental and not before
- Hand washing / disinfection before playing
- Do not touch your face (eyes, nose, mouth)
- Do not change the side of the field
- Limitation to 5 people for the field (4 players + coach)
- Finish 5 min rather not to meet the next players
