Several French people were involved in FIP Gold Dubai, however there are only two French representatives left at the end of the first round: Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison. If they are not associated for this tournament, the two men can still claim to obtain their ticket for the quarter-finals.

First of all, Adrien Maigret already has an atypical career in this tournament alongside Jérôme Peeters, since he was eliminated in the last qualifying round against Sergio Icardo and Javier Lopez Garcia (6/3 – 6/4).

It is thanks to a withdrawal in the main draw that he obtains the status of Lucky Loser and that he joins the first round where he beats his compatriot Thomas Leygue and Guillem Figuerola (6/4 – 7/5). Fun fact, the Franco-Belgian pair will now be able to take their revenge against their executioner in qualifying, Icardo / Lopez Garcia.

Teamed with Spaniard Victor Mena, Benjamin Tison is seeded number 2 in this FIP Gold. It is therefore no surprise that he overcame his French colleague Max Moreau and the Transalpine Riccardo Sinicropi (6/3 – 6/4). It is the Italians Di Giovanni / Cattaneo who await the 67th in the world and his new partner in the second round.

Julien Seurin and Philémon Raichmann managed to get into the main draw after three good wins, but they couldn't do anything against Medina Murphy/Navarro Perez (6/3 – 6/2).

Finally, Jérôme Inzerillo did not create a surprise when he entered the running with Alvaro Montiel Caruso against Solbes / Garcia Blanco (6/7 - 6/3 - 6/0), just like Jérémy Scatena and Roger Aromi Siquier against Fazendeiro/Gil (6/0 – 6/4).

Remember that the Vanbauce/De Meyer and Vivès/Guichard pairs were eliminated in the second qualifying round.
