Maxime Joris and Thomas Vanbauce reached the end of the road at the FIP Rise in Nola, eliminated in the semi-finals today by the Italians Flavio Abbate (174) and Giulio Graziotti (172).

The French failed to reproduce their level of play that they showed in recent days. They suffered from the law of the Transalpines from the start of the game, conceding the double break quickly then the first set with a score of 6/2.

The second round was almost identical. Faced with a right-handed-left-handed combo of young players spinning and overpowering over their heads, the Tricolores were caught by the throat, unable to find the solution. They lost 6/2 – 6/2 in just under an hour of play.

A dry defeat, but which does not detract from the performance of Maxime Joris and Thomas Vanbauce, by far the MVPs among the Blues this week on the international circuit with victories on world Top 100.
