Dylan Guichard and Bastien Blanqué came very close to the feat last night at the Premier Padel GNP Mexico P1.

Indeed, after losing the first set 6/2 against Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger, the French against all odds returned to the fight and managed to get back to one round everywhere. And after winning a tight second set (7/5), the French players continued their momentum by leading 3/0 in the third and final act!

Not stunned by the strong comeback of the Argentines, who managed to equalize at 3/3, Bastien and Dylan got themselves a break point at 4/3 which could have changed everything. Unfortunately for them, Libaak and Augsburger showed in hot moments why they finished last season in the Top 25 of the WPT. They shifted gears at the best time and won four of the last five games of the match.

Jostled as they surely did not expect, Tino and Leo were able to pick themselves up when necessary and avoid enormous disillusionment in the heat and wind of Acapulco. Final score 6/2 5/7 7/5 for those who will face the Mexicans Padilla and Montoya (WC) this Tuesday in the first round of the main draw.

Bastien and Dylan leave this GNP Mexico P1 with obviously a little disappointment but can be proud to have shaken two players who will undoubtedly be among the big stars of tomorrow.

Among the girls, Carla Touly and Margarida Fernandes lost in two sets against the 4th seed of the previas Arellano / Vivancos: 7/5 6/3.

Today we will follow the entry into the running of the last Frenchwoman competing in Mexico: Alix Collombon. The Lyonnaise and her partner Julieta Bidahorria were not spoiled by the draw since they face the 5th seed Icardo / Salazar. Will they be able to draw inspiration from the performance delivered yesterday by Guichard / Blanqué and create a major feat?

Response around 20 p.m. French time on the YouTube channel of Premier Padel.
