This is unthinkable news that has just fallen! Just over a month from the organization of the Worlds of padel, FIP announces a change of host country. The event will take place from October 31 to November 5, but in the United Arab Emirates !

A World Cup in Dubai

Luigi Carraro and the International Federation of Padel had surprised everyone by granting for the second consecutive time the organization of the World Championships Padel in Qatar.

But today, the FIP announces a change of site 46 days before the organization of the competition. So it's Dubai and theUAEPA which have been chosen to compensate for the case of force majeure which prevents Qatar from organizing this world championship.

Is the case of force majeure related to the Football World Cup organized a few weeks later in the same country? We don't have the answer.

"The padel is already a reality that moves crowds around the world, including at world championships, after the success of its last edition, which represented a new era for our sport. After the unprecedented record of 40 countries in the qualification phase (Africa – Asia, South America, North America and Europe) and the final phase, the FIP continues to improve the most important competition of the padel.

The XVIth edition of the World Championships padel 2022 will award prize money of €500 to be shared equally between men and women. All countries qualified for the final phase will have a prize, which will be awarded through the member federations.

Regarding the venue, due to a case of force majeure which prevented the Qatar Federation (QTF) from organizing the event on the scheduled dates, the FIP Board of Directors has decided that the XVI edition of the World Tournament padel will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 31 to November 5, and that the Associate Member Federation UAEPA will be responsible for organizing the event in collaboration with the FIP."
