Isabelle VANNIER - BONNET, the founder of OSS BARCELONE, specialized in internships padel in Barcelona, looks back on the development of padel in France and its development axes for education  padel.

1 / Do you feel the evolution of padel in France ?

Yeah, I'm really starting to feel the emergence of the padel on French territory as well as in Belgium elsewhere.

We organize internships padel in Barcelona for almost 10 years, but this year we have received more requests from players who want to take advantage of the Spanish experience to train more effectively and thus better enjoy this very complete sport and accessible to all.

2 / What do you think is a good internship?

I think that the players who come to Spain, wish to benefit from a more advanced training than that which one can find in France. It is therefore important to offer relevant services and a program as complete as possible to meet the expectations of each player.

For this purpose, high-level video analysis sessions commented by specialists can clearly visualize game patterns, understand them and be able to reproduce them more easily. In the same way, the personal analysis of the technical moves, carried out directly on the court are determining elements in the apprenticeship.

They give the possibility to the players to accelerate their progress and to have all the tips of the game. Of course, we must not forget either that the padel is a sport that presents physical constraints; the joints are particularly stressed, in particular that of the shoulder, the knee but also the back.

It is for this reason that players who want to play as long and intensively as possible must make sure they have a warm-up, reinforcement and, ideally, specific stretching routine.

In any case, the statistics here in Spain clearly demonstrate that simple and effective prevention exercises can prevent many surgical operations.

And finally for the biggest competitors, the mental part seems judicious to tackle. Keeping your level of play throughout a match requires a lot of concentration, and like all other aspects, it works ...

Finally, the idea of a good internship is to bring players what they are looking for. There is no question of imposing internship content but to meet everyone's expectations. All this in a fulfilling context, and for that Barcelona has all the assets ...

3 / The highlights of Barcelona?

  • Its environment (tourist town, seaside)
  • Its climate
  • Its festive atmosphere (after the effort, the comfort)
  • The joviality of the Spaniards
  • The multitude of tourist and sports activities available (possibility to come with his family, in a group, in any case, everyone can find his account)

Strengths on the map padel and sports?

  • Its sporting dynamism (Olympic Games site, Castelldefels, European sports city in 2013)
  • The very sporty culture of the Spanish (very invested in their sport)
  • The level of play, like the presence of Bela and Lima present all year on our structures
  • The quality of his teaching
  • Teachers trained specifically in padel (without reference to tennis)
  • Presence of many Argentineans with a lived experience of more than 20 years of teaching
  • Live the game differently (other game tactics)
  • The multitude of installations (outdoor and indoor)
  • The multitude of players of all levels
  • The multitude of friendly and official tournaments organized every week

4 / Why ask OuiSportSpirit for an internship in Barcelona?

  • Benefit from a tailor-made internship, proposed according to the profile of the players and its objectives
  • Have a corresponding technician available on site throughout the internship
  • Get advice on structures present in Barcelona
  • Have an all-inclusive stay: internship, accommodation, transfers, other activities, which allows you to take full advantage of these holidays,
  • Have no concerns about logistics
  • Define and control your budget upstream
  • Be sure to spend the sporting holidays as you wish

5 / What do you think of teaching in France?

Unfortunately, I remain convinced that as long as the French Tennis Federation does not create a teaching diploma specific to the padel, the quality of the courses given on French territory cannot be qualitative.

Contrary to appearances, the padel is not so close to tennis! These are 2 complementary sports but far from being identical and even turn out to be opposed on certain aspects:

In tennis, it's all about playing in the open space, fast and strong especially ...

Au padel the opposite is true, it is more efficient to play slowly and slowly on the player first, since it is above all a question of neutralizing your opponents before trying to gain the upper hand!

Not to mention all the specific shots, whether it's the " Bandeja ", of the " Vibora », From the return of the windows… all these blows deserve technical and even biomechanical knowledge to be able to be taught correctly…

6 / The modules of the FFT are not enough?

The reality in France is such that a tennis teacher in a club does not have time to practice and train outside of his tennis activities. The federation certainly offers training modules but this sport can not be learned in a few hours ... It deserves on its own the same requirements as those we have in tennis coaching training. Without this, it will be difficult to have a level of play as high as in Spain.
