In the live broadcast, the FACE-A-FACE, Jessica Ginier, n ° 1 in France, looks in particular at her past and her future as a French team.

Here is a summary of the live Podcast of the FACE-à-FACE program produced on April 13, 2020 at 18 p.m. on the Instagram page.

  • On the World Padel Tour

Never say never at the moment the WPT is not my goal. My goal is to have fun in France, to win a few tournaments.

  • How it works during containment

I try to do 1 hour a day of muscle building. I am lucky to be in the countryside, I can go running once every two days. We send videos to the players of the France team, it allows me to know exercises and work everything.

  •  On its tennis course

I started tennis very young, I had a high level project, I was out of school at around 15 years old with the aim of leaving on the secondary circuit in view of my ranking (800 WTA), I succeeded to reach 450th place worldwide (27th French) by doing just that. I shared that with Alix Collombon who had the same project. It was mentally difficult because we didn't make too much money, we had to fight. I was put away for 6 months because of a shin injury and stopped at 20.

  •  On his meeting with Alix Collombon

We played in double set young, we had been champions of France second series in young people. From 14-15 years old, we went on tournaments together.

  •  His debut in the padel

I tried thanks to Alix who had just discovered the padel. She motivated me to come and try in her club in Rieu-la-Pape. The beginnings were not very glorious, I was lost, I did not understand anything in the windows. Alix sold me the Acapulco World Championships (2016). It motivated me, we started training and we finished 4th at the 2016 Lille French Championships so we were able to be selected.

  • On the Lille 2016 French Championships

It was complicated at first, I was frustrated, but I wanted to do well. I wouldn't have given up, I just needed a little kick in the ass. We had lost to Sorel / Godard in the group stage and then we had to whip to get out of the pools.

  •  On the supremacy of the pair and the weariness that could settle

There is no weariness, we approach the matches as if we had to give 100% each time to win. On any match, I take pleasure, it is not at all boring, on the contrary! We played very well at the 2020 French Championships, but there are more and more players and the gap will narrow. We are the pair to knock down so it will push everyone up.

  •  Cancellation of the FFT tests

I am necessarily disappointed, but I find it logical that the French Championships do not take place. We could not do departmental or regional phase so we could not do favoritism and choose pairs to participate in the final phase. I especially hope that we can still have a rally before the World Championships.

  • On the new coach

It was a very good decision to have chosen Robin Haziza, even if Patrick Fouquet had had excellent results. I'm glad it was Robin, he was the person who had the most experience for this, and also the tact to communicate with the girls.
