The first inning got off to a strong start for both teams who are going blow for blow in this game. Each of the teams held their service until they disputed the set in the decisive game. A tie-break smoothly led by the young Spaniards who quickly lead 5/1 before winning this tie-break. But the first set acted as a trompe-l'oeil, with a Spanish pair very comfortable on their service games and a French pair who had to fight. Evidenced by the 20 points scored more by Canovas / Santigosa over the entire match.
