After an exceptional quarter-final, the step was too high for Lucille Pothier and Thomas Leygue. Our blues were narrowly lost, in two sets, 7/6, 6/3 against the Spanish pair Canovas / Santigosa, seeded number 1, who climbed into the final.

The first inning got off to a strong start for both teams who are going blow for blow in this game. Each of the teams held their service until they disputed the set in the decisive game. A tie-break smoothly led by the young Spaniards who quickly lead 5/1 before winning this tie-break. But the first set acted as a trompe-l'oeil, with a Spanish pair very comfortable on their service games and a French pair who had to fight. Evidenced by the 20 points scored more by Canovas / Santigosa over the entire match.

With a break very early in the second set, the Spaniards quickly led 2/0. A late break that our bruises never managed to fill. A new service game lost unfortunately came to conclude the beautiful course of our French, who lost 6/3. However, they still have the match for the bronze medal to be played tomorrow against another Spanish pair, Martinez / Gala, who lost in a completely crazy match in 3 sets against the Italian pair Cassetta / Sussarello.

After being rocked by tennis for nearly 15 years, I became an absolute fan of its cousin, the padel. For nearly a year now, I've been chasing the little yellow ball with another racquet, but with just as much passion! Based in Lyon, I intend to make you better acquainted with the padel in the region and at the national level.
