The men's captain of the France team Padel, Alexis Salles looks back on the beautiful day during the first day of the World padel in Paraguay and is preparing for the confrontation against Spain:

In addition to the victories of our 4 teams during the 1er Tour of the Open, we will especially remember this 1ere day our superb performance against the Paraguay team.

It was the revenge of world precedents that had unfolded in Portugal and turned to the advantage of the Paraguayans. This year we have not left our luck in an atmosphere of madness with a very large audience ... and very noisy!

The French players were very strong mentally and their level of play was very good.

Our French champion Bastien BLANQUE and Johan BERGERON played in 1 position and they made a very big match. They made very few mistakes and were able to be decisive in the important moments of the game. I was expecting from them this level of performance ... contract completed.

We then launched our team 2 composed of Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison. Considering their poor experience at the international level, it was better not to start the match and not to end it in case there is 1 match won by each country. Benjamin and Adrien had a very solid game that they mastered well. Congratulations to them for their level of play and their cool knowing that the Paraguayan public was “muy caliente”.

Finally Robin Haziza and Jeremy Scatena lost the 3ème meeting that did not matter. Jeremy did not feel good and did not have enough juice ...

But the week is still long and I have no doubt that they will gradually build up.

Tomorrow gala match against Spain and its armada of professional players.
