Worse, in a letter of December 10, the PPA issued new criticisms of the WPT. Indeed, the circuit is accused of preventing those who do not have a contract for 2023 from participating in the tournaments. This would concern about fifty players between the first and the 150th place in the ranking.

A situation which particularly angers the association, which via its board of directors wished to communicate that it “would not accept any pressure”. In fact, the collective of players declares that it is preparing at the legal level to respond in the event that the WPT puts its “threats” into execution. It is also specified that “the interests of all players would be defended by the PPA”.
