Laura Clergue, our French champion, had a very good run in Valence, during the Open du World Padel Tour. And she confirmed again this weekend during the FFT PADEL TOUR from Aix-en-Provence to the Country Club Padel that she was new to business with a very good level of play.

She returned to this good dynamic between 2 matches of the FFT PADEL TOUR...

The victories in Valencia, it helps to revive?

Of course it feels good. For morale and for the rest of the adventure on the professional circuit. This first round at the Valencia Open shows that we have the level and that we can more often integrate the main draw of a stage of the World Padel Tour.

We have chained very good victories in qualifying and pre-qualifying. Now you have to do it more regularly and that would be perfect.

Can we say that you stabilized with Barbara?

With my partner, it's going very well. We are in the field. Since 2 / 3 months, we try to play together, and for the next tournaments, we will try to continue on this dynamic with Barbara Las Heras Monterde.

Is there a difference between the WPT of 2 years ago and now?

I think the World Padel Tour of my beginnings is no longer the World Padel Tour that we know today.

Two years ago, among the girls, there were more places than before to enter the main draw. Today there are more girls. And they want a lot more. The World Padel Tour ladies is building muscles, getting “masculiniser".

In concrete terms, how does it manifest itself?

The level is higher than before on the women's circuit of World Padel Tour. The players are in full swing and it is more difficult to integrate a main draw.

There are many more players on the circuit and the level increases undoubtedly. From the first games, it's a battle. The levels are tightening and today, integrate a main table ladies, it became much more complicated than before.

But since I'm with my partner, things are better. Finally, we managed to get to the main draw in Valencia. Trust returns. And it's a very good thing for the rest of the season.
