Ludovic Piraino, Manager of the Five Perpiginan center, discusses the development of padel in its structure composed of 4 fields of padel (2 semi indoor and 2 indoor), 2 squash, 4 a5 foot (1 semi-indoor and 3 indoor).

The center exists since 7 years. One of the first things the manager did: "cis to launch this new activity of padel. We have redone the whole football center 5. We have reduced the football fields to allow the addition of 2 football fields. padel indoor".

"If I could put more 4 indoor, I'll do it immediately."

Why the padel to the five of Perpiginan?

I discovered the padel in 2015 at the Mas de Perpignan club. And there, it was a blow of heart. My partner and I wanted to develop this activity suddenly. We took advantage of the acquisition of the complex to integrate padel indoor at first then two semi indoor courts.

I got down to padel. Besides, I don't play anymore padel than football. It's less dangerous than football and particularly fun for people like me. In football, when you're bad we let you know. At padel, we evolve very quickly.

How has the club evolved?

At first, it was a little complicated. It took 6 / 7 months for the activity to really start in the center. At first, it looked but people did not dare to play. Then, suddenly the mayonnaise has taken.

I even have footballers who go so far as to stop football for the padel. Moreover, more generally, the players who come to play here are players who do not come from tennis.

How does it work to play?

First, it's over the phone. The cost is 24 euros the field day from Monday to Friday. And evenings and weekends, it's 28 €.

We walk by multi-activity ticket. But things will change. The advantage is that we have to padel, squash and football. Suddenly, athletes can really vary their activities without taking the lead.

At the tournament level?

We have set up many tournaments of padel internal.

We were the first LE Five center to integrate 5 football, squash and padel. Today, the Five / Soccer Park opens. The future is to vary activities.

We have the ambition to take the local next door. But it is not. And we could put back some soccer and padel. It would be great.
