One of our Spanish colleagues had fun comparing the padel with The Walking Dead TV series featuring zombies and the living dead. We have found the original subject and indeed, resuming the comparisons, there are points of survival of the series to be taken into account in padel.

Here are the most useful points of the series to take into account in padel.

  • It's better to choose a strong team

What The Walking Dead says is that it is better to wage war with a company than alone. At padel, it's quite similar. If you decide to play the game individually, you will have little chance of winning it. Remember that the padel is a team sport and the duo is stronger than individuality.

  • Use adapted tools and effective weapons

Without a good sword, a good arrow or a good knife, the protagonists of the series are almost lost men. Same thing at padel. Without the right equipment, you are less likely to be effective. A lot of material exists at padel, but a pala adapted to our body and our game will not penalize us, on the contrary. Likewise with your shoes and clothes. Be comfortable and well protected.

  • Have a plan of action but be ready to act quickly

In the event that you find yourself facing a zombie, it is important to have a plan. What to do ? Where to go ? At padel, it is important to have a plan B in the event of a crisis. Knowing what to do next in this or that situation can turn the tide. We have to prepare for the game tactically knowing what the strengths and weaknesses of our rivals are. However, it is important to know how to react to unexpected conditions during the match such as the weather, the wind, one of the two players put in the fridge, players who contest all the balls… factors that can make us lose control.

  • To act stupidly can cost you your life

When Rick, Daryl, and their companions go on a zombie hunt, they can't afford to let their guard down. There may still be a pair of undead hiding around the corner. Same thing at padel, fortunately with less disastrous consequences. Impossible to let your guard down. The course of a match can change very quickly, and in a tournament where you play multiple matches on the same day, you will need to always be ready for the next one. It is therefore important to prepare both physically and mentally to face the matches and convert them into victories.
