Le development of padel in France is no secret. In terms of players, infrastructures or tournaments, the development indices of the padel in France are considerable. Analysis by Gilles Fiolet and DigDash comes once again to confirm it to us.

The distribution of top 100 players in France is quite interesting. At first, the South-East is in the spotlight, whether for men or women, with the Occitanie and PACA region, which has more than 30% of licensees (34% F / 32% M).

For men, four leagues dominate the country: Ile de France (14%), PACA (14%), Occitanie (18%) and New Aquitaine (22%)

Among women we also find the same four dominating leagues: Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Île de France with 15% and PACA and Occitanie with 17%.

We note that the South-East and South-West of France are very represented with the Provence Alpes Cotes d'Azur region, Occitanie and New Aquitaine. This strong representation is due to the many clubs and fields built in these regions, which are favored by a pleasant climate allowing to play on outdoor grounds during a good part of the year. It must also be said that Occitanie and PACA are historical regions of padel French and that the proximity to Spain certainly has something to do with it!

Please note: : players in the top 100 French players do not always graduate from the club where they play, in particular because of the interclubs. Some players in the north could join a team and a club in the south for example, distorting these statistics a little.

Vincent Gallie

A fan of oval football, round ball but also racket sports, he was stung by the padel during his adolescence in Galicia. As comfortable in front of the camera as behind a microphone, Vince will be able to bring his vision and expertise as a fan of the little yellow ball.
