Jusuf Kika who is one of the co-founders of the movement “Padel” in Kosovo, agreed to share with us the origins of the creation of the first Kosovar padel federation.
The origin of the creation of the Kosovar Padel Federation
”Our story goes back to 2021, when Besim Shulemaja (born in Kosovo and living in Sweden) and I decided to bring something new to our country. That’s when we started PROJECT PADEL KOSOVA. Besim is now the President of the Kosovo Padel Federation and I am the Secretary General.

In the space of a year, we have established the Kosovo Padel Federation, we have helped to create almost a dozen padel clubs in the country, we have been accepted with full rights in the Kosovo Olympic Committee, we have been accepted by the Ministry of Sports of our country and we have partnered with the Albanian football legend, Lorik Cana, to build the first padel center with 3 courts in our country. But this is just the beginning since we are looking to expand and build two more sites, one of which will be outdoors and the other one will be special since we want to organize tournaments there. "
A strong connection between Kosovo and Albania
“Our mobilization was very quick and we did an incredible job and we continue to do so. We also help Albania to develop and promote this sport and we help others as much as we can to promote this sport in the region and in the Balkans in general.
Our federation has organized two tournaments outside of Kosovo with the Albanian community in Sweden, and the next one will take place here in Pristina, Kosovo. "

Next goals: to be accepted by the FIP and to develop padel schools in Kosovo
“Our main objective is to be accepted as a new member of the FIP and then we want to produce new padel players from here, who will be able to participate in the best tournaments in the world.
The next plan is to create padel schools here and we are already working on a program for that. The last thing we have done in Kosovo is to have incorporated padel in schools and universities, to allow students to play or why not consider making padel their profession.
At the moment, the Federation is looking to create its League and expand padel to all cities in Kosovo. "

Passionate about football, I discovered padel in 2019. Since then, I have been crazy in love with this sport to the point of abandoning my favorite sport.
