The French sports television channels set out to conquer the sport which is growing the most in the world today. Very popular at the leisure level thanks to its playful side, the padel also has a very big audience potential thanks to the impressive sporting spectacle it offers. For the moment a Bein Sport vs Canal + battle seems to be looming.

Bein Sport, forever the first

Thibault Le Rol had given us the information in preview at Casa Padel "We will be able to see the padel on French television not long ago. ” Everything seemed to indicate that Bein Sport was going to broadcast the World Padel Tour, and it was finally with the World Championships in Doha that Bein launched the padel on the small screen of the French.

Bein Sport was the first French channel to show an interest in the padel, and will forever be the first channel to broadcast it.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi played (and will play) a decisive role on this subject. The one who is both president of the Bein Sport group and of the Tennis Federation-Padel-Squash from Qatar obviously made it easier.

But on the WPT file, it was finally Canal + which passed in front of Bein Sport. The Qatari group should not be satisfied with this lost duel, and could look for an alternative to propose padel all year. Will they try to acquire the broadcasting rights of the APT Padel Tower ?

Canal +, the channel of padel ?

Canal + offered padel during the Master Final in Madrid in December, and that's just the start. At least 4 to 6 stages will be broadcast on the encrypted channel in 2022, and we can bet that the French stage which will take place certainly in Toulouse next June will be part of it.

The channel which belongs to the Bolloré group has an indirect ambassador, the host Cyril Hanouna who does not hide his passion for this sport. He regularly echoes it on his program “Touche pas à mon poste” in front of more than a million viewers. Broadcast on C8, the group's free channel, these little communication shots allow the padel to gain a little more notoriety in France.

Why not broadcast a WPT finale on C8? Maybe the final of the French championships? Case to follow.
