Unsurprisingly, the women's semi-final between Stade Toulousain and My Center Palavas kept all its promises. The Héraultaises, winners of the title holders, have punched their ticket for the final and will have to face All In Padel Lyon. An exciting shock for their president Yannick Maurel, who spoke in our columns. And who dreams of bringing the cup home.

Last year's revenge

“It was the revenge of last year, a semi-final against Toulouse. We were a little more favorite than before, so we held our place. We had two good matches, especially two big sets (one in each match), and the girls were able to be solid at the right time. We're in the final !"

Goal achieved

“We are a small town of 6 inhabitants in Palavas… (laughing) So to achieve this is already a great thing.

The initial objective was the final. We knew there was a big Lyon team on the other side. Now that we're in the final, obviously we're going to try to win and we're going to do everything we can. Our goal has been achieved, but a final is won.”

My Center grows with 2 new clubs

“At the moment, My Center is not necessarily a franchise because we continue to manage them ourselves.

We have 6 slopes arriving at Cogolin, in addition to the tennis courts, and four others starting at La Grande-Motte. They are planned for the end of December-beginning of January. In Palavas, we now have four indoor tracks and four outdoor tracks, without forgetting the new clubhouse.”

Then in project, 2 more centers…

“As long as it is not signed, I never give any information. But there are actually two projects that will arrive in 2024.”

“A team less homogeneous than ours”

“We are not the favorites against the All In Padel Lyon. We thought about the composition, it can change depending on the state of fitness of each person. We know that Alix (Collombon) is a scarecrow, she scares everyone! We know her current status, we will have to find solutions to play intelligently against her. Afterwards, there is also a big pair with Jessica and Lucile. I think it's a less homogeneous team than ours, but with real headliners. It will be a very interesting match to watch.”
